laptop borrowing

Some clarification from Nathan:

We have 30 laptops:
10 White MacBooks are available to top up class numbers of our (Library) Mac Trolley,  these stay in the library and are not loaned during lesson times, even if bags are available (they can be issued out to the teacher or individual students)
20 Silver Mac Book Pro's can be borrowed at lesson times and after school
If teachers say that the MacBook Trolley is not being used and they need a class of laptops then please suggest that they book the MacBook Trolley area.

USB portable storage units

New Lexar 4GB Jump Drives are now available - $5 each.

fiction changes

You will be aware earlier in the week that some more fiction changes took place. This now means that all Contemporary life, Historical/Saga, Romance and General are all called General on Horizon. The stickers will remain unchanged.
I have started merging these books together and as of Friday all the M-Z titles have been merged together. You will still find A-L either at the beginning of where Historical/Saga used to sit, or at the beginning where the old general sat.
Hopefully this process will be completed early next week. Angela

display in Children's library

There is a display of books by authors Aliston Lester and Boori Monty Pryor in the children's library on the yellow table next to the pyramid display.  If you notice more books coming through by these authors could you please display on this table. Connie

laptop borrowing

While Nathan is away, it is important that we keep up with where all of the laptops are (especially the ones that are in the safe store or being fixed by IT).
If Di or Matt or Hayden come in to get a laptop, please check it out to them.
If they say it needs to go for repair or that it needs to go back to IT for re-imaging, I would like them to be checked out to 'Seaford sub-IT'. This way, we know where it is.
No person, even a teacher, should take a laptop from the library without it being checked out- because otherwise we have no idea where it is.
If you are unsure, please ask me rather than assume it is OK - Karla.

volunteer enquiries

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF PROCEDURE:
Unless, they walk into your Library......where the site Volunteer Co-ordinator meets the person....
all enquiries are to be forwarded to Volunteer Development (who will arrange for forms to be sent to this person).  Volunteer Development will then contact the appropriate site Co-ordinator to organise a placement.

AF - the genre move...

We are in the process of changing the fiction genres. Currently we have merged Military with Crime/Suspense -  they will still be called Crime/Suspense but will either have the crime label or the military label.
Also Paranormal romance and Horror have been merged. These are now called Supernatural, but again will still have either the horror sticker or the paranormal romance sticker.
Please be careful when reshelving items as they have been moved! Angela
