start of school

A few things to take into consideration at the beginning of the year please.
There will be new students who are not sure of procedure when coming into library, or new senior students who are not aware of showing their timetable. Please explain to them. If you are unclear on these, please see me.
·         Teachers will be using different movement passes in the diaries now. These are smaller and less specific than the old ones. Please accept these as long as teacher has filled in all details.
·         New students will not have an ID card until after school photos have been taken (end of Feb). Please allow these students to borrow using their diary. If students have lost their ID from last year, there is no point in ordering a new one now, so they can borrow with their diary too.
·         If anyone asks, the re-imaged laptops will need to be collected from school IT, not here.
·         Booking the LibICT or Macbook Trolley area need to be done on DayMap (DayMap replaces edumate).
We cannot do this for teachers.
      Most importantly though
Please be friendly and welcoming to students. Student survey feedback has indicated that students do feel as though library staff can be rude to them. Please treat students as you would like to be treated yourself, and help them out as much as possible. We never know what is happening in our students’ lives so a friendly face might just make their day. Karla

seasonal workers/ travelers + WiFi

To register Seasonal Workers/Travelers
The following procedure applies for seasonal workers/travelers coming into our area for short periods and requiring wireless access for their devices.
We do not require them to become members of the library, nor do we issue them with a library card. All other customers are required to join the library.
To add a Seasonal Worker/Traveler to the wireless database:
·         Sight photo ID and verify that they haven’t registered for wireless at another SA public library
·         Add them using your library code.FirstnameLastname (ie. A19.GrapePicker)
·         Enter ID type and number in the comments box, add post code and select an expiry date.
Ensure that they are made aware of the conditions of use when they log onNathan

customers changing default library location

You may get customers who have changed their home library on Workflows but it isn’t reflected in Enterprise in their default pickup location This is because it’s a feature in Enterprise that the customer can do this themselves! Here’s where to locate it.
They need to login and then select My account and can navigate to the correct area as displayed above. Kathy
