new iPads

There are 2 new public  iPads (orange), they are numbered 5 & 6.
Please note in the excel spreadsheet for the loaning of these, this is very important if logged onto the network. Ipads 1-4 will be for school use (but public can use also).
Customers can now connect directly to wireless network to access our catalogue without having to log-on, I’m not sure how we’re going to promote this but I have the link on the home page on all the iPads if you need to show customers. Nathan

youth audio books

Please be aware that teenage audio books are now located at the very last bay of the teenage fiction (with clear signage). If you can try to put all of these here instead of interfiling with adult ones, it would be great. Karla

customer requests

The Reader Request forms have now been updated to reflect the One Card network. Can we please now use these new forms, if anyone is photocopying them, please ensure that it is the updated one.
 For your information:
-In the first instance, Symphony should be checked, if we do not have a title, a PLAIN ILL is still possible for older items, particularly non-fiction titles
-Any items on Symphony which Onkaparinga do not have, ie are on order for other libraries and that then fall within the 90 day embargo, or new items that require an override to reserve, need to be requested for our customers, the LP team will usually purchase any title that falls within these parameters
-Customers from other library services who request new items to be purchased with pickup from outside our library service need to be referred back to their home library service for them to consider purchase. Angela

OPAC shut down

OPACs can now be shutdown in the usual way: Ctrl-Alt-DEL and shutdown. Nathan
