emergency phone

There is an emergency phone (currently) situated under the fax machine - in a white basket marked EMERGENCY PHONE. This is the phone we can use, or be contacted on, when there is no contact possible on other systems (eg when there is a power failure) or when we need a ready/available phone. Please answer it should it ring.

SAPLN owner institution

There will be a change to the way we encode items from other libraries in the consortium. There is an option in Settings to select the Owner Institution (ISIL) of material (currently this is set to Onkaparinga Library Service) – this is okay for COOL items -  but all other library items we are tagging need to be encoded as SAPLN (Most of the material in the Black crates) later there will be a separate option for City of Adelaide Libraries so please don’t encode these items yet.
I have put an instruction sheet on the wall above the PC in the check-in room but see details above. Nathan

Check-in room prompts

Due to some unnecessary errors being made, there are now some more detailed prompting notes in the checkin room to make sure that everyone is following the same process. Whilst there are multiple processes that work, it is best if we all do things the same way to avoid mistakes being made and assumptions being made that are not necessarily correct. Please familiarise yourself with, and follow the process that is stated, so that we can provide good service to our customers and avoid wasted time later down the track chasing up things that should not have happened in the first place. Karla
