I have moved the 'graphic novel type' DVDs to the bottom shelf to allow for increased storage requirement for TV series DVDs. Albert

staff opening change
In case you were not aware, Albert mentioned last week at
the team meeting that there have been some changes implemented regarding
opening on Saturday mornings.
Due to a safety concern, Judi has requested that when no one
else is on site ie school staff/cleaner etc we are to have 2 people come in
early rather than just one. This only affects us on Saturday mornings, because
there are always people at school we can contact if needed, when we come in
early during the week.
So, from now on, two staff will be required to start at
8.30am on a Saturday, with only one starting at 9 (most likely a casual).
For full time staff, this will mean that you can come in at 11:30 instead
of 11am (if you are having a 1hr break) on the Thursday, and then the following
week when you leave early, you will need to leave at 1.15pm.
Part time staff, you will need to alter your hours on
another day as you usually would if you open on a Saturday.
I have updated everyone’s hours of work, to accommodate the
RDOs for full time staff, and the latest information regarding this is in the
Hours of Work tab in the Roster.
If you are ever locking up on your own for some
reason, don’t forget the duress alarm which you can take to your car and bring
back the next day. Karla

changes to circ assist
Be aware of an upgrade made to the Circ Assistant (where
RFID pad is connected to a PC)
Please read the PDF that is available and remember to keep the window on
AUTOMATIC – we have no real need for manual at present.
Turning off barcode sending
will be useful so items aren’t checked out accidentally when items are placed on
pad. Nathan

recycling
Be aware that new recycling bins have been installed in the office area. The RED desk top bins are for personal waste (that goes to land fill). Things such as soft plastics, tissues, post-it notes and alkaline batteries would be disposed of here.
The recyclables go into the bins under the desks and are split in to recyclables (cardboard, glass, tins, etc) BLUE BIN and white paper (White paper/card, white envelopes, etc) GREY BIN. Please assist us in improving our recycling!

WiFi sign-ups
I have found a number of records on WiFi for local users with user names written as their name ie. johnsmith
Remember unless WiFi users are travellers and show ID (passport etc.) that proves that they are not local, you must have a username X0123456789. Refer to the procedures please WiFi users must be public library members unless visiting from another state or country.
One user who was signed up in the last couple of days has LOST charges and has been sent to debt collection.

transferred phone calls
As you’d know we often get phone calls transferred from
other branches just to book a computer at Seaford. Instead of transferring the
call to Noarlunga to book a Noarlunga PC, for example, I have placed the quick
link to the PC Res web module on the front page of Only2Clicks, so that you can
just book it for them instead of transferring the call. Its really straight
forward and easy to use but not something many of us have used before, so I
thought I’d remind you about it and make it quick and easy to access. Karla

new emergency phone
There is a new emergency phone located next to the display laptop in the work room. This phone is for use in emergency situations where the phone system is not working (eg electrical black-out) - no make and receive calls.
